Who we are

Willard and Donna McMillen launched Big Country Storage Mini Storage in 1978. Mr. McMillen, a licensed and bonded masonry contractor, built the first storage building in 1978. While Willard was busy constructing buildings, Donna was busy running the storage business. The business grew quickly, and buildings were added several times as the business outgrew its original facility.

What started as a part time business evolved into one of the premier storage facilities in the Rocky Mountain area.

Burnett Ranches Ptr (Steve and Roseanne Burnett, Bill and Nancy Kesner, and Ellen Marie Burnett) purchased Big Country in May of 1999. The "big country" tradition was continued by creation of the business entity, Big Country Storage LLC.

Office remodeling commenced immediately and a new computer system, with specialized software, was installed. New product lines of boxes, locks, and packing supplies were added to meet the growing needs of our customers during that year.

Two new buildings were put into operation during 2000. One (by the Wyoming State Fair Grounds) was purchased from John and Hillary Gaviotis of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The other location involved a new site (south of Richards Street) and incorporated perimeter fencing, a security gate system, and lot lighting for outside storage.

Our facility is made up of well-constructed buildings and easily navigable driveways. Most of our buildings are of masonry construction and the driveways are asphalt paved. The RV and outside secured storage areas are surfaced with clean gravel.

We provide snow removal with our modern equipment to give you better accessibility to your unit, even in the harsh winter months. We sweep our lots regularly to keep our modern facility clean.
